Yōichi Takahashi, un grande mangaka giapponese, pubblicò la sua prima serie nel 1980 sulla rivista Shōnen Jump, il capitano Tsubasa, noto come Olive e Tom in Francia. Questa serie di calcio ha un enorme successo e verrà persino adattata in una serie televisiva animata.
