Manga contest registration

Since 2017, Shibuya Productions and SHUEISHA Inc. are sponsoring a manga creation contest as part of the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences (MAGIC) in partnership with Shibuya International.

To be valid, these have to be initialled and signed!

Entry forms should be submitted by email to mangacontest@magic-ip.com, along with a scanned image file of these signed terms and conditions and a link to a server where we can download your full work.

Important dates:

  • 12th June to 15th October of 2018: Registration session and drawing boards submissions
  • 15th November 2018: Announcement of the 10 pre-selected stories
  • 17th January 2019: Announcement of the 5 selected stories which will proceed to the finals
  • 9th March 2019, MAGIC: Finalists’ stories presentations, jury deliberation and winner announcement

The winner  and the runner-up will get their awarded work published online on Shônen Jump (http://plus.shonenjump.com/).

Moreover, the winner will also have the chance to spend a month in Japan, where he/ she will meet with mangaka, a Shueisha publisher (tantô), and get the opportunity to extend the partnership with the publisher for one extra year!

Registration for the event

MAGIC is a private event organized by Shibuya Productions. The entrance is free of charge and requires prior registration. The organization reserves the right to deny anyone entry to the event at their discretion.

What an honor for Shibuya Productions to celebrate the fifth anniversary of our event the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences (MAGIC) on the 9th of March.

Who could have believed, that a Gala Dinner, which was initially organized to celebrate the creation of the company, was going to transform into an inevitable yearly pop culture event in the Principality of Monaco.

 Who would have thought that after only 4 years, MAGIC will be exported to Japan, in Kyoto, Japanese culture’s heart.
